Quinta Mimosa is a luxurious and completely private converted farmhouse within its own walled grounds about 7 to 10 minutes drive from Tavira and the sea. It has large well manicured gardens, fruit orchard lawns, ancient trees such as carob and olive trees that are probably older than 500 years, terraces and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside to the sea . It has its own huge secluded pool surrounded by bougainvilleas clad stone walls and towering palm trees. Next to it there is a wonderful roofed barbecue area with fridge and bar.
Set among palm trees and surrounded by orange, lemon fig mango and many other fruit trees you will fall in love with this exceptional country residence. Enjoy a refreshing drink made from your own oranges and lemons while reclining on the cushioned loungers next to the huge pool.
Play tennis on the private clay tennis court with its own spectator area for your friends ! or limber up on the weight training and exercise machines !
The farmhouse has its own library with dvd’s and hundreds of books. In one of the two drawing rooms there is an extra large plasma television and satellite with all the sports and movie channels. Netflix is subscribed for watching TV episodes and movies. The other drawing room has an open wood burning fireplace and comfortable sofa’s and settees.
There is under floor heating and air conditioning throughout. If you enjoy cooking there is a California style kitchen with every amenity including, olive oil and eggs and fruit from the estate. Take advantage of the well-stocked herb gardens, rosemary, thyme, basil, mint…… You can visit the local market to buy produce grown in the surrounding farms and fish caught that day by the local wooden fishing boats which have their own harbour and fish market in the charming town of Tavira.
The area is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, most with convenient restaurants. Stroll across the centuries old Roman bridge and take a refreshing drink in one of the many cafes bordering the River Gilao in the centre of quaint old town of Tavira. The town itself is full of restaurants and shops and from here you can take a little ferry or a water taxi to the island (Ilha de Tavira) with sandy beach and crystal clear waters. There there is a diving school and most water sports are available.
There are more than 30 well known golf courses along this stretch of the coast. Four of the nearest, Quinta da Ria, Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei and Benamor are just a few minutes away.
The property is only a 25 minute drive from Faro's airport which makes it an ideal holiday base. Car hire is not essential but is recommended for exploring the area and to drive to Tavira and the local small towns
