Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Fabulous location and very easy to find. Great facilities - probably the best equipped kitchen for utensils that i have ever encountered in Ireland and i have been staying in self catering locations 2 to 3 times a year for the last 14 years. Having no TV is an absolute bonus as it removes the unnecessary background noise and you can enjoy the silence of the location. Clifden is about a 30 minute drive and is a vibrant town with many places to enjoy food - also supermarkets well served by Supervalue / Lidl / Aldi within 5 minute drive of each other
Negative: The only negative was the planned electricity disruption for the whole of Wednesday - which we didn't find out about until arriving on the Monday evening to see the notification card that ESB send out. We had to re-arrange plans as the outage was from 8.30am to 6.00pm. To be fair Ann the Property Manager offered to go and purchase a gas hob for us to use however we had then planned to go out for the day. The outage also affected the water which was reduced to a trickle. We returned around 5.30pm, however the electricy supply wasn't restored until just after 7pm
