Golf: Within 10 minutes' drive of the villa is the Javea Golf Club located between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course has 9 holes, par 72 and 3,035 meters. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other amenities include a driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, club bar and restaurant. The Olazabal designed La Sella golf course is 20 minutes' drive inland near the town of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 meters long. Of course, although flat it has many trees and water obstacles and provides a very good challenge. Amenities include: driving range, putting green, motorized carts, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool. Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Within an hour's drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This course includes 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 meters. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness center.
Other areas to explore: Javea consists of three areas, Arenal with a beautiful sandy beach, bars and restaurants. On summer evenings, Arenal is busy with craft stalls, artists and musicians. The port area with the fish market and promenade and the old town with narrow streets, shops, historic buildings. Every Thursday morning there is a colorful market. 10 km from Javea is the city and port of Denia with daily connections to the Balearic Islands. Denia boasts sandy beaches with trees, street streets, cafes, bars and restaurants. The resort of Benidorm is just a 30-minute drive away, and nearby is Terra Mitica, which is one of the largest theme parks in Europe. Visit Aqualandia, a theme water park, and right next door is Mundomar, with dolphins, seals and parrots. A drive to Guadalest is a must with its quaint shops, narrow cobbled winding streets and spectacular views from the town square.
Javea Town: Javea lies between pine-filled Cabo De La Nao to the south and Cabo De San Antonio to the north. The city is an ideal place for a family holiday, especially in spring, when the area is ablaze with almond trees and the smell of orange and lemon trees fills the air. The World Health Organization has declared that Javea is "nearly perfect for the environment" and that you can bathe here in the brightest rays of the Costa Blanca approximately 320 days a year. The town of Javea lies at the foot of 2,500-meter Mount Montgo, a designated nature reserve.It houses a 16th-century church, a covered market square and a historic museum that houses a nationally important collection of rare Iberian finds from Montgo. After exploring the fascinating narrow streets of the city, you can go to the old fishing port about 1.6 km away. South of the old town lies Arenal Beach, a wide semicircle of fine, golden sand, backed by a promenade of shops and restaurants.
La Guardia/Cabo De La Nao Areas: Stop at the "Miradors" (viewpoints), several of which are within a short drive of Casa Mallandos. Without exception, they offer stunning views from cliff tops, rocky coves and crystal clear waters. This is the ultimate snorkeling spot, reminiscent of Cornwall but with a guarantee of good weather! From Cabo De La Nao, on a clear day you can see all the way to Ibiza, 100 km away. Nearby is the idyllic bay of La Granadella, so picturesque that it is often featured on postcards of Javea.
